Join our eight week Children's Book Illustration course, one session per week held on a Wednesday. Learn the ins and outs of how to illustrate children’s Books. This in-person course is held at the @inc studios in Bury St Edmunds.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, this course is perfect for anyone passionate about children's books. Taught by a University lecturer who has an MA in Children’s Book Illustration.

  • Course Introduction 

  • Best sellers in the world and why 

  • Recipe for a winning book 

  • Book Share

  • Homework 

Week Two 

  • Week 2 - We will be working with the power of composition to create drama and mood. Discuss character development project.
    Bring in selection of card thickness’s.

Week Three 

  • Experiment mixed media, ink, collage, continue project.
    Bring old magazines, comics, old or new newspaper.

Week Four 

  • Collage  

  • Collaboration 

  • Homework 

Week Five 

  • Continue projects, demonstration - How to create a 'Book Dummy' 

Week Six 

  • Book Dummy

  • Testing/feedback steps 

  • Self-publishing 

Week Seven 

Book Designer visit, continue project work

Week Eight 

  • Marketing 

  • Tea and Cake
